It’s no secret that marriage and Tinseltown don’t always work out well together, and Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie ended up signing a prenuptial agreement before their wedding this past weekend.
According to a report, the “So Yesterday” songstress signed away her rights to Comrie’s family’s $500 million appliance and furniture empire.
Though sometimes prenuptial agreements can be tricky and tense, a source close to Duff said it was just a quick little speed bump on the road to marital bliss.
“It was a totally amicable agreement. They love each other very much and knew this was just a technicality.”

Hilary was escorted down the aisle by her mother Susan Duff, who was dressed in Badgley Mischka.

But my agent convinced me to go and I got a call back and they ended up choosing me. And I really had a great great time doing it. Great experience.

You know what, she was such a sweetheart to work with. I don’t know her fiancé, he’s a hockey player. [I'm from] North Dakota, so I’m big on hockey. It’s one of those things, you meet somebody who’s really sweet in the industry and my sister was a huge fan of hers growing up. And I don’t know, it’s really cool to see it work. E! News has confirmed that Hilary Duff will walk down the aisle with her hockey-playing fiance Mike Comrie this month but not on the 14th as some outlets have reported.
The August nuptials are “imminent,” according to a source, who describes the event as a “quiet affair” being orchestrated by wedding planner to the stars Mindy Weiss (former clients include Gwen Stefani, Jessica Simpson and Adam Sandler).
So how has the couple been prepping for their big day?
The Disney starlet and her man, who plays for the Edmonton Oilers, have been taking private lessons with instructor Lisa Goodman to prep for their first dance.
